Olsen Homes & Renovation Named NARI 2005 Regional Contractor of the Year

Salem, Oregon, 1/16/06 --- The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) named  Olsen Homes & Renovation, in Salem, Oregon, 2005 Regional Contractor of the Year (CotY) in the Residential Bathroom $30,000 and under category of its annual awards competition.

Olsen Homes & Renovation is a local residential remodeling company focused on whole-house transformations. Our specialty is integrating new architectural concepts and spaces into older homes. We do this by evolving unimaginative, poorly designed homes into functional, stylish, sustainable, and architecturally pleasing structures that add to the original character, or create new character, for your home. We have a full-service staff, which allows us to offer a complete array of custom remodeling services. Our services include: whole house transformation, architectural design and construction documents, interior design, additions, bath and kitchen renovations, historically significant projects, and siding and window replacement.

Contractors from seven regions around the country vie for CotY Awards on an annual basis, and all regional winners will be eligible for National CotY Awards at NARI’s Evening of Excellence^SM on March 24 at the Sheraton at the Capital in Austin, Texas. Most projects submitted for judging were an improvement or an addition to an existing structure, with the exception of one category, “Residential Exterior Specialty.” Otherwise, new construction projects were not eligible. In addition, competing projects were completed between July 1, 2004 and November 30, 2005 (a 17-month time period) and were not submitted in prior NARI National contests. Judging for regional awards took place at the Association’s national headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois, in early January.

An impartial panel of judges who are experts within the industry and associated fields, selected winners based on each entrant’s “before and after” photography and project description. Judging was based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.

To be considered for a CotY Award, a company must be a NARI member in good standing. NARI members represent an elite group from the approximately 800,000 companies and individuals in the U.S. identifying themselves as remodelers.
